UNDER THE SPELL OF THE SHADOW MOON Under certain phases of the moon some of us get a little crazy. To celebrate this insanity I combined various textures of both hand and machine made glass with hand beveled pieces and faceted glass jewels. The orange/red disc is a cylinder bottom, a by product of hand made sheet glass. Difficult to see in the photo is the black 'moon' appearing from the corner above the orange/red moon.

This screen was originally framed in the oak frame shown in the photo. I commissioned this frame from George Righter, a master wood worker. This new frame features exquisite mortise and tenon and saddle joints and the rich, natural color of the purpleheart with coca bolo panels really compliment the glass and bring out its colors. There were no stains used.

This is one of a kind.
