This panel was commissioned by four siblings as a gift for their mother. Each of the pandas represents one of her children and each has their name along the side in Chinese calligraphy. The eldest, at the top, the only daughter, has a little red bow that was painted over a sand carved area. The faces are sand carved black and white flashed emaile glass. The rocks, bamboo and leaves are opalescent glass and the background is a transparent light grey drawn antique glass. The photograph does show some interference with the scenery in the background.
